CALLED TO ORDER:

The General Membership Meeting was called to order at 1610 hours by President Steve Eggert.

APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES:

The minutes from the August 29, 2007, General Membership Meeting have been posted at worksites and the website.  They were presented again for review.  A motion was made by Mark Lemoine to approve the minutes as submitted.  The motion was seconded by Det. Todd Salter.  Motion passed.

POLITICAL ENDORSEMENTS:

The KCPOG Political Action Committee forwarded Candidates Chris Eggen (Shoreline City Council, Pos. 2) and John James (Sammamish City Council, Pos. 4) requests for endorsement to the General Membership for consideration.  After a brief discussion, a motion was made by Marcus Williams to endorse Chris Eggen for Position 2, Shoreline City Council.  The motion was seconded by Mark Lemoine and passed by all.  The discussion of potential endorsement for John James died due to lack of any motion.

EARLY WARNING SYSTEM:

A recent GIB announcement was made in regard to an Early Warning System being developed by KCSO.  KCPOG has made a Demand to Bargain over this issue and it has been put on the negotiations table by KCSO negotiators.

WEBSITE ADVERTISING:

Beth Sowers, wife of KCSO Sgt. Steve Sowers, has expressed interest in advertising on the KCPOG website.  KCPOG would like to support all KCPOG members and their families with any reasonable requests.    The Board discussed Beth’s request to advertise her AFLAC insurance affiliation for a small pre-established fee for persons associated with KCPOG.  A motion was made by Marcus Williams and seconded by Mark Lemoine to allow Beth to advertise on the Website for the pre-established cost.  Motion passed.

ACCESSING PERSONAL INFORMATION – MICROSOFT OUTLOOK:

It has been brought to the attention of Sgt. Pewitt that Sgt. Fryberger has requested open access to a few of his subordinates’ personal Outlook calendars.   The KCPOG Board feels this is a mandatory subject of bargaining and permission should not be granted to allow anyone access to personal calendar information contained in Outlook.  Any Department member can already access busy or non- busy time for other Department members in Outlook by using their scheduling feature.

ADJOURNED:

The General Membership Meeting adjourned at 1715 hrs.
