2017 KCPOG Scholarship Program
The last day to submit your scholarship application is FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 2017. Applications can be submitted at the Guild office or electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any questions or problems email me.
Recognizing Excellence in Academic Achievement and Community Service
Awarding for 2017: (2) Scholarships of $2,500 each for full-time students; and (2) of $1,000 each for part-time students
To be eligible to apply for a King County Police Officers Guild Scholarship, the following criteria must be met:
- Current member of the King County Police Officers Guild, spouse or dependent child of KCPOG member.
- A graduating high school senior (in 2017) or current college student.
- Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Applicant must provide verification of acceptance or enrollment to an accredited college, university, or trade school.
- KCPOG will not award a scholarship in consecutive years to the same applicant.
Scholarship committee members and their families are not eligible to apply. After selection of scholarship recipients, the committee’s decision is final. Scholarships awarded based on the information obtained solely from this application and those specific materials requested. King County Police Officers Guild Scholarships are not based on the applicant's financial situation.
Completed and signed application form
Official copy of transcripts from high school and all college transcripts
Two (2) letters of reference/recommendation: (Letters should not be more than one year old)
One from a high school or college instructor;
The other letter from someone not related to the applicant (may be personal or professional)
Typed essay (400 words or less) describing both, the applicant's:
Personal goals, accomplishments & expectations
Current photograph (senior or school pictures, preferably in digital format)
Application Procedure & Deadline:
Applications, transcripts, etc. must be received in the Guild office NO LATER THAN APRIL 28, 2017. Applications received late, incomplete or not in accordance with the guidelines will be ineligible. Scholarship recipients will be notified by or before June 1, 2017.
*Must be a King County Police Officers Guild member, spouse or dependent child of the member on the established deadline date (4/28/2017).
