New County Payroll System

Posted On: Jan 20, 2012 (13:58:20)

There apprears to be a few different errors in the new payroll system.  A GIB was put out this afternoon addressing the sick leave balances and requesting that you e-mail payroll (see below) with any other anomolies.  I have talked to several Deputies and Sergeants today, all report having sick leave ending balances of 100.016.  This is obviously an error that has already been identified by the County and should be corrected on your next check .

Please review the attached example for some other errors that have been identified.  Make sure that you email payroll with the descrepencies.

Below is the latest GIB  addressing the payroll issues;

Notices in this GIB:

Correction To Notice 12-024:  First Paychecks With New System

Correction to Notice 12-024:  FIRST PAYCHECKS WITH NEW SYSTEM

Corrections to this notice are shown below in red italics.  All other information remains the same.

As you know the County has switched to a new payroll system.  As with any new change there are some things that don’t always go as planned.  We have been notified that we will receive paycheck stubs today (however they will be delayed due to low staffing levels throughout the County).

It appears that direct deposits have been made into accounts, and we will be receiving paychecks for those individuals without direct deposit.

If you are trying to view your paycheck through PeopleSoft, you won’t see it on the list unless you click the VIEW ALL button on the blue line above your last paycheck listing, and then go to the bottom of the list of paychecks.

We are aware of some sick leave balances that are not correct.  We have been told by Central Finance this will be resolved with the February 5th payroll.  We appreciate your patience as we work with the County Payroll system on resolving that issue over the coming days.

If you find anomalies with your paycheck other than sick leave balances, please first email our KCSO Payroll Office at kcsopayroll@kingcounty.gov  so we can log and triage problems and can be made aware of other similar issues KCSO employees may be having.  If your question or issue is an emergency, please call 206 296-4180 and select from our menu.

Again, thank you for your patience.

DeWayne Pitts, Chief Financial Officer

Law enforcement history awaits you at the Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum

Located in the historic Pioneer Square district in Downtown Seattle, the Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum brings the history of policing in the Pacific Northwest to life.  The Museum is the official repository for the historical artifacts of the Seattle Police Department and the King County Sheriff’s Office dating back to the 1880’s.

Historic photographs, documents, weaponry, uniforms, and a variety of other artifacts are on public display, as well as information on some of the regions’ most notorious crime cases.  The museum also has vintage interactive displays, including a 9-1-1 dispatcher console and historic jail cell.

About the Museum

The Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum is a private, non-profit facility designed to “demystify” the police and educate the public about the historic, cultural, technological and social transitions of the Seattle Police Department and King County Sheriff’s Office.
The Museum actively collaborates and is the official repository for both of the agency’s historical artifacts, which are on public display and include; historic photographs, documents, weaponry, uniforms, and a variety of other artifacts dating back to the 1880’s.

The Police Museum was formed in 1997 by Seattle Police Officer Jim Ritter and other police officers who transformed an abandoned building into the largest privately operated police museum in the United States representing a major U.S. city and county.  The Museum administration consists of a President and Board Members from both agencies as well as an Office Manager, who is the only paid employee.  The Police Museum has been officially endorsed by the Seattle City Council and King County Council and relies on the collaborative support from the City of Seattle and it’s Police Department as well as King County and its’ Sheriff’s Office.

In addition, the Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum also collaborates with other private organizations and various media entities which include; Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound, America’s Most Wanted, A&E, The Discovery Channel, The History Channel, Steven King Productions and other organizations which share the mission, vision and goals of the police museum.

The Police Museum is does not receive financial support from any government agency and is funded entirely through the generous donations of over 1,000 Seattle Police Officers and King County Sheriff’s Deputies, Admission fees, Gift shop sales, private donations, facility rentals and grants.  The museum is a federally recognized 501C3 non-profit organization.
