Policy Guidelines set forth by the The King County Police Officer’s Guild is eager to participate in the political process through its Political Action Committee. However, due to the fact that the King County Police Officer’s Guild is not a large institution and has limited resources, it can not direct enough time or money to all political candidates and causes it may wish too. Therefore, to better serve our membership and the causes and/or candidates we wish to become involved with; the P.A.C. has adopted a few policies we feel best serve our membership. Currently, the P.A.C. is not accepting endorsement packets from individuals seeking political office at the Federal level of government or individuals seeking election in a statewide political race. Individuals or organizations involved in state political activities are encouraged to contact C.O.M.P.A.S. (Council of Metropolitan Police and Sheriff’s) in Olympia. Certain exceptions may be made on the state level with candidates who have been or are involved with public safety. The P.A.C. has also decided not to donate money to campaigns, initiatives, propositions, or other political activities at the federal level of government. The P.A.C. committee will accept requests for endorsements from individuals seeking office within King County government, incorporated cities that contract with the King County Sheriff’s Office, and state legislative races within King County. All endorsement packets should be completed and returned to the King County Police Officer’s Guild by July 1. Please email them to Kim@kcpog.com or mail to 5701 6th Ave S.
